Aircraft History
7008 was the eighth Canadair Regional Jet built and was the first Special Edition RJ100 built. The aircraft was constructed to the RJ100ER configuration and then passed outside of Canadair for further interior work. This work configured the interior as a corporate transport and also added extra fuel capabilities which gave the aircraft close to intercontinental range. 7008 was purposely built for the Xerox Corporation who took delivery of the aircraft on January 27th, 1993 and operated 7008 until it was sold in 2002 with the registration N5100X.
Boston Enterprises took possession of the aircraft and remodeled the interior to their own specifications and gave 7008 a new registration of N501LS which lasted only a short period of time before it was changed to its current registration of N601LS. 7008 for a short time in 2004 was repainted into a Victoria Secrets color scheme as part of a promotion for that store which is owned by Boston Enterprises. After those events were concluded, 7008 was returned to a non-descript color scheme in which it operates in at the time of this article.
