Embraer announced at Farnborough that a letter of Intent with Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras for 30 Embraer 195-E2s has been signed. The agreement includes 20 additional options for the type.
As the first airline to order the E195-E2, Azul becomes the launch operator for the new type. Azul currently operates 82 E-Jets and has another 11 on order. The airline also operates the largest fleet of Embraer 195s in the world.
First delivery is planned for the first quarter of 2019 with entry into service in 2020.
Azul, the third largest airline in Brazil, operates a fleet of 141 aircraft.
