On February 9, 2015, Bombardier that American Airlines signed a firm order for 24 CRJ900 NextGen regional jets. This order was announced on December 30, 2014 and followed American exercising 24 of 40 previous CRJ900 NextGen aircraft options. The options were originally part of American’s large regional jet order announced December 2013.
Including this latest order, Bombardier has firm orders for 1,858 CRJ aircraft, including 384 CRJ900 and CRJ900 NextGen aircraft. CRJs have transported more than 1.5 billion passengers and have logged more than 41 million flight hours and over 34 million takeoffs and landings.
