On December 5th, 2013, Bombardier announced that Nantong Tongzhou Bay Aviation signed a letter of intent for 30 Q400 NextGen aircraft in advance planning for the airline to begin operations in China as Sutong Airlines. The airline intends to operate an all Q400 fleet with initial operational service beginning sometime in 2015.
As of September 30th, 2013 Bombardier had booked 476 firm orders for Q400 and Q400 NextGen turboprops.
